Abbots Langley Petition

Abbots Langley Parish Area is under threat from Government imposed top-down housing targets and sites.

Jane Lay and Stephen Giles-Medhurst are getting to Abbots Langley Parish Council to set up a “Fighting Fund” for expert legal and planning advice at the Public Inquiry on the Government imposed housing sites. Once set up we will hope to encourage residents to support it. A public Inquiry is likely at the end of the year but we might need to fight any speculative planning applications before that.

The Government wants to impose 1,125 homes north of Abbots Road and 331 off the A41 at Hunton Bridge on us. The Government has blocked the Council’s agreed Local Plan for 7,017 homes - which SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDED THESE SITES homes and instead imposed 11,235, including 1,456 extra in the Abbots Langley area.

Stephen and Jane are working with the residents’ action group and the independent Three Rivers Joint Residents’ Association (TRJR) to present a united campaign. TRJR called on our MP to withdraw his support for the Ministers decision and back the Council’s plan.
